I made my first hat!!!!!

I bought this fabric at a thrift store today(I am almost sure its all cotton) for .50
This is the first time I have sewn with a pattern(I got the main pattern from someone online, but had to totally redo it to fit me.. I thought my head was huge till I made this and her "small" was gonna be waaaay too big)

a big arsenio hall whoop whoop to me!!ya know I never have actually done this but in my head its just as gratifying

hey theveganmary, sometimes I use a good pair of tweezers to get the fleas, as long as your careful you can just pop them, I know its bad, but better than drowining them I guess...

Rescued a huge grasshopper that was in the store. HUGE! Like, 3.5 inches long. He was on a picture frame, just chillin', and customers were all freaking out about it. I went and got him and took him outside to some bushes. He did not wanna let go of my finger. Strong little bugger. Cute... bright green.

isn't it amazing that people 'freak out' over something so beautiful and miraculous?

Nice hat, lolamako. It suits you perfectly.

Yay me! After nearly five and a half years of work, I just completed and turned in my doctoral thesis dissertation. After I defend it in front of the public in two weeks from today I'll be a real live doctor!!!

You'll be able to ask me all your burning neuroscience questions and I'll actually be qualified to answer them!!

Yayyyyyyy!!!! What a relief! I've been anxious for you ever since you said it was stressing you out. Of course, I'm saving the Cristal for your moment of real live doctor-ness.
