So, every Thanksgiving we buy an Unturkey, by Now and Zen.
We like it a lot and the gravy is DELICIOUS, too. |

I saw one of the commercial vegan turkey substitutes at a party, but it looked too frightening to me. Even when I was an omni I disliked eating birds (because of the taste and also because I had a pet bird).

I've also never tried it!
It's hard to find here and it's also expensive! |

I used to like tofurky but now I hate it. I had an entire tofurky to myself one thanksgiving or christmas (and I ate the whole thing in a matter of days..). I am soo incredibly sick of it now and the thought of eating it makes my stomach turn.
Not liking tofurky isn't the end of the world though. I didn't even discover it's existance until like 4 years into veganism and I'm not doomed.

Give me a good curry over tofurky anyday.
Except for tofu, I rarely eat meat substitutes and I'm not doomed either. Are you concerned because you don't think you'll be able to find meat substitutes that you will like? If you're newer to veganism it may take a while for your taste buds to change. For example, I hated nutritional yeast when I first tried it and now I sprinkle it on popcorn.

I agree that it takes awhile for the taste buds to change. I used to hate soy milk, fake meat, or any sort of substitute thing. After awhile I grew a taste for it and now I like most of it.
