I'm not convinced about the address. If someone's going to keep your dog, they're going to keep your dog, regardless of knowing their name or address. Unless you have pictures and a registered microchip and/or tattoo - good luck proving that dog is yours even if she or he is stolen by your neighbors.

"Needs meds" - I like Herbi's thoughts about it. I've tried and tried to find it but haven't yet.

Her post is probably what I read that made me less enthused about the "needs meds" idea.

That's why I couldn't find it - I was limiting my search to the animal forum. Thank you, Miso! *bows to superior search skillz*

maia's tag has our last name, address, and phone number. that's the generic format that our GPA-provided tag form asked for.

finley's and avery's tags do not have our address, because they're teeny (3/8" kitty collar tags) and i wanted to have two phone numbers and an urgency message. so theirs reads:

HELP! I'M LOST
AVERY (or FINLEY)
home number
cell number

i did the "help! i'm lost" part because i am terrified that if they ever got out, people might just shrug and think, "eh, he has a collar, he must be an outside cat."

There are range of collars available in the market. Collars are used for training the dog and if your dog is very big, a collar can serve as a useful handling tool for your pet around the house too.

Mom got plain metal tags for the doggies for Christmas. They're nothing fancy, but they're a heck of a lot more legible than Zoe's old tag. Now I just need to get some comfy cloth collars. I find myself removing Zoe's collar a lot more often than I should now that we have a yard, soley because she looks so uncomfortable (but cute) in bulky nylon.
