I think that I am cursed. I think that I have bronchitis AGAIN. I just got over it about 3 weeks ago and I woke up with really sore lungs on Sunday. I'm guess that it is something contagious as my significant other of sorts woke up Sunday with the same thing.
Today I developed a lovely cough, loss of voice, weakness, dizziness, hot/cold spells, and tremors.
It really doesn't help that I am practically working full time and I also go to school so havn't been getting much rest. I know that I am also making it worse since I am a smoker (*has a moment of shame and hides her face*). I've been cutting down smoking a bit since being sick and invested in lighter cigarettes today so that I still get my nicotine fix but am inhaling less tar, fermaldehyde, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, etc.. *continues to hang her head in shame*
Do any of you know of any crazy remedies that I can use to get myself healthy again? I'm willing to try anything that I am capable of getting my hands on!

OK shade.
Besides the obvious, which I know that you are already aware of, try oil of wild oregano. Typically a person would take about 3 drops under the tongue at least three times a day. In case of an active infection/ailment they may go as high as 5 drops up to 5 times a day. Hold the drops under the tongue for 30 seconds or more and let it mix with saliva before swallowing. In the case of a sore throat, put a few drops in to your mouth, sip a little water, and then gargle thoroughly before swallowing. This stuff is peppery hot and takes a bit of getting use to.
Also, zinc lozenges are very effective in boosting immunity and especially effective in throat infections. Swiss brand makes a strong zinc citrate lozenge that is particularly effective.
Echinecea is a herb that supports the immune system. Get a good product. People usually take it three times a day for 5 to 7 days and then take two to three days off before repeating.
Tapping on your sternum over your thymus gland can stimulate the production of infection fighting white blood cells. Tap several times a day for 5 to 20 seconds at a time.
Lots of fresh, pure water is essential for the body to be able to fight any infection and to flush out toxins and crap that support pathogens.
If your affliction is not "wet" then consider using a steam room. If you have a lot of mucus and dampness related to your condition then use a dry sauna or better yet and infra-red sauna.
Garlic is often beneficial for respiratory infections. You can even put some garlic oil or fresh garlic juice into hot water and inhale gently.
Fenugreek is a wonderful herb for clearing gunk out of the lungs and airways. If there is a lot of congestion and coughing is not productive try using elcampagne. It is very effective in helping the body throw of congested mucus.
Do you use probiotics? If the intestinal flora are not healthy you cannot be healthy. Use a good brand that has a high organism count with acidophilus and bifidus. Acidophilus naturally produces a number of natural antibiotics that support your immunity, and they do not become obsolete as they are adaptive to the bacteria they are fighting.

And back to the obvious......stop pushing that danged boulder up the hill ahead of you. It will always, always, always roll back on top of you. :(

Just some ideas sent with love and concern.
May peace and joy be with you.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Do you know where I may be able to come across oil of wild oregano?
I've been taking echinacea along with drinking tons of water.
So far my cough is quite dry (although if it's anyways like last time within a month it will progress to mucousy). I live in a really dry environment which isn't helping. I've been sleeping with a humidifier on in my room though.
Where abouts is my sternum?
I'll try some garlic. Even though I'm not a hue fan of it, I can suffer through it if it helps me get better.

Any good health food/vitamin store will sell oil of wild oregano. It comes in a small dropper bottle and may seem kind of expensive. Let me assure you it is worth every penny.
The sternum is that bony plate down the middle/front of your ribcage. Tap fairly solidly with two or three fingers about one third to half way down it. Not hard enough to hurt or bruise. The thymus gland sits behind it and it is responsible for producing T-cells that are very important as they produce various immune support factors such as interferon and interleukins. They also play a role in activating B-cells to produce antibodies.

May peace and joy be with you.

So I apparently don't have bronchitis. I have some sort of contagious pnuemonia.
I feel worse today and it really didn't help not sleeping last night.

If there is fluid in your lungs and airways it is helpful to assist it in draining out.
You can lie on your bed, face down, with your torso hanging over the edge, face to the floor. In this positon gravity can assist in the fluid draining out. If you are able to cough in this postion (not too hard) it is also helpful. Some people have percussive massage done on their back while in this position, and some like to inhale aromatherapy steam selected to help open the airways.
Of course, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep......
And noooooo nic-sticks.

May you be blesses with rapid and thorough healing, and may peace and joy be with you.

I got chest X-rays today and about half my lungs are full of fluid. It's rather gross. I'll give that a try though, thanks!
