I was looking through some old forums on pregnancy and it seems there are a few of us who are currently expecting baby vegans - but it seems we all posted all over the place. So, I thought it would be cool to keep track of us.
I am due Sept 13, expecting our first child, a girl (as of yet still unnamed), and planning a home birth.
Anyone else?

Good idea to keep track...
Angelus71 and I are our expecting our first child on Nov 17, a girl that we plan on naming Mia Stella(it means My Star in Italian).
We are both anxious, nervous and very excited as this was totally unexpected.
Anyone else?

I am a proud auntie, happy to post that my sister will be birthing (in a hospital) around October 26, 2004. :)
I almost desperately hope to homebirth when I get pregnant. Read many cool books. Don't think much of hospital birth, myself. Can't force my sis, nor do I really want to. Have a cousin who did all homebirth, including the last two, who were twins. True hero material here!!!
What made you all decide to find out your baby's sex ahead of time? I think I'd like to be surprised, but maybe I'll feel differently when I'm actually pregnant! That's what my mom and my boyfriend's mom did, so maybe we're just biased.
I took a class on pregnancy and childbirth Winter quarter. The class was really liberally biased since I go to a hippy college without grades, but the people in it were kind of hypocritical. I heard a lot of, "Oh, it's so sad the mercury in fish causes birth defects and milk has so many hormones, but it's not like you can just stop eating fish and dairy!" Um, sure you can! Anyway, that class made me more confused... there wasn't one method of birthing that really called to me. There are so many choices!

i am very excited...i cant wait to be an aunt and welcome little niamh or ronnie into the world!

We have #3 due September 18th. The first two we knew the gender of, but not this one. We also had names for the first two. Now we're stuck!
I still haven't felt this one move or kick. I think she's faking it. :p

San,
At first we both wanted to find out ahead of time, but then Angelus71 changed his mind and didn't want to know. I said "Look, I want to know, I need to know." Being the stubborn person I am, we found out. :D
And it was a surprise for us when we found out, I just wanted to know sooner than later. I can't imagine going nine months and not knowing who is inside. But that's just me, to each his/her own.

I'm the same way - I can't imagine going the full nine yards without knowing that she is a she - I'll be surprised enough with hair color, texture, eyes etc. though I totally respect those of you who want the full surprise - plus for us it narrows down the name search.
Oh, and I'm also planning a water birth!
