does anyone know anything about natural remedies for ADD? things like ritalin and adderall worked great for me but for the last few years (three? five? can't remember since stopping!) i've refused to take drugs. my mind is terribly sluggish and cloudy. i have difficulty conveying ideas because certain words just won't come to me. commonplace, basic words even. i'm like skeeter's father from 'doug'...."pass the uh, uh, you know... the little round greenish things..." - "peas?" - "peas!"
now, are there things that are lacking in my diet that may contribute to my ADD or natural remedies that you'd recommend? and am i the only one with this problem?

The is an essential fatty acid known as DHA that is found in seaweed as a plant source, and maybe some other plant sources also. I take supplements for it since seaweed is not a regular part of my diet and I haven't researched what else has DHA.
Other than that, meditation is good for ADD as well as reducing random sensory stimulation (computer, TV, video games, etc.)

I believe it is, but my memory is a little weak on the details. I don't know if all omega 3 is DHA or not. If it is, then you can also get omega 3/DHA from flax seed oil, walnuts, and dark leafy greens, as well as seaweed. I'll have to refresh my memory on all that stuff. Perhaps someone with more solid knowledge can chime in. :)
