From the King's Hill (http://www.kingshillfarm.com/) List:

Hi everyone,

I consider Agricultural Biotechnology (Genetic Engineering) to be
one of the most serious threats facing humanity. It has the potential to
disturb the delicate balance of nature and render whole classes of food
crops unfit for human consumption. I urge each of you to become familiar
with this issue.

This week Jeffrey Smith, author of the new book on biotechnology
"Seeds of Deception" with forward by Francis Moore Lappe, will
be the Chicago area 1/5-8/04 for a series of lectures and book signings.
Jeffrey has recently returned from Biotech meetings in Europe and South
America and these lectures promise an engaging, thought provoking,
informative, and hopeful presentation of the latest developments in the
Agricultural Biotechnology controversy.

Some of the questions covered in these presentations will be:

IS GENETICALLY ENGINEERED(GE) FOOD DANGEROUS?

IS GE FOOD IN GROCERY STORES NOW?

ARE YOU EATING IT?

WHAT LONG TERM EFFECT WILL IT HAVE ON US, OUR CHILDREN AND THE FUTURE OF
THE EARTH?

IS GENETIC ENGINEERING GOOD SCIENCE OR IS IT AN EXPERIMENT MOTIVATED BY
POWER AND GREED?

WHY AND HOW HAS GE FOOD BEEN BANNED IN EUROPE?

WHY DO FOOD GIANTS LIKE KRAFT FOODS CONTINUE TO ALLOW GE INGREDIENTS IN
THEIR PRODUCTS IN THE U.S.?

WHY DOES THE FDA REFUSE TO TEST AND LABEL GE FOOD?

WHY DOESN'T OUR GOVERNMENT WANT US TO KNOW GE INGREDIENTS ARE IN OUR
FOOD??
