Anybody wanna' be my vegan friend? I'm pretty nice and not crazy. :)
All of my friends have either stopped being vegan, or moved far away. It's a sad life folks.

good lord, if there's anywhere you can make vegan friends, it's Seattle!
Oh, wait.
Put passive Seattlites together with the complacency of having it too good, and I can see why you don't have enough vegan friends. :umm:
OK, that's it. Let's plan a VRF gathering. Mid-December? A Friday evening at Pizza Pi, say, Dec 11th?

I think Elf and I might be able to make it. It's a bit touchy because it's the weekend before finals and I'm likely to be stressed as anything, and quite busy, but if I can fit it in, I'll let you know.

I'm gonna try to be there, but it's finals for me as well, so it's less likely now than it was before, but if I finish all my projects, I'll be there. :)

Hm. Since only bekah and I are firm commitments, and I have to arrange for childcare to come to the dinner, I'd appreciate it if we rescheduled for a time when we're all less busy.
Not that I wouldn't enjoy dinner with bekah-chan and her boyfriend if no one else could come, but it seems that adding to people's stress/busy schedules is counter-intuitive.
bekah, I know you'll be in Seattle this Friday anyway, so maybe rescheduling isn't as ideal for you. What do you think? Would people feel more free (schedule-wise) to come if it were next Friday instead?
But if everyone still wants to aim for this Friday, I'm happy to do it. I'll make childcare happen. And I'd suggest 6pm.

I work Saturday evenings. Sundays are ok, as are other evenings but that's when I schedule other things, too.
Cephalopod, since you were the inspiration, we can keep it on this Friday if it works best for you.

i know i said i was flexible, but at this point i think i would rather change the date. this morning i was asked by someone to babysit tomorrow and if we're still unsure at this point if we're still meeting up tomorrow i'd feel better just telling her i can babysit (i don't want to end up telling her no and then we don't end up going anyway). so, yeah, unless we make a decision soon i'm going to have to be out for tomorrow.

I could do Friday actually! I'm not going out of town 'til Saturday now due to snow, so if Friday night still works for everybody, I'd be in.

Myself and several others will be headed out to Seattle at some point in the near future. It could be in two weeks. It could be in two months. While there, I would love to meet anyone who wants to go out to a restaurant.

OK, here are the plans thus far. As soon as stores start ordering from UNFI, especially the ones in Seattle, we'll organize a time when a group (pretty much everyone atm), heads out there. It looks like most of us will stay for the first week as there will be a ton of stuff to do with product sampling and meeting face to face with many of the new store managers who will continue to do the ordering. I expect that this first week will occur in Seattle. We may be in Spokane before it or just after it. If many of the smaller cities (like in the north west part of the state) seem to be ordering as well, someone will probably stay after the first week while everyone else heads back. That person will do the driving tour and meet and greet with deli managers. I have no idea what will happen with Vacouver since that's right next to Portland. Actually, that should be interesting.
When I get more information, I guess I'll just start a new thread. Personally, I'm craving Ethiopian and Indian. I think the others in the group will probably go with my suggestions. So, are there any Ethiopian or Indian restaurants you would recommend? I noticed on yelp there are 24 Ethiopian restaurants in Seattle. I almost wet myself when I saw that.

I've been to 2 Ethiopian restaurants in Seattle, and both were fine, not great (neither are vegan, just had a couple vegan plates). Indian's a little easier.
But, don't you want to go to the vegan restaurants?
