Assuming that the environmental and health costs are the same, do you look forward to the innovation of artificially grown meat?

This is similar to the replicator meat thread, but I voted Big improvement but I would not use it. It would be good if all the meat addicts did tho.
Ok, I might try a fillet mignon, once.

I was never a "meat" person. I always asked for things well done and my favorites were heavily sauced and seasoned dishes. I don't miss meat at all. I also enjoy the tastes and textures of a low processed vegan diet so I would stay with that.
Artificially grown meat is within our life time, which I find exciting for several reasons even though I don't want to use it.
It would reduce the number of livestock animals in the US from billions killed a year to a few thousand kept alive as cell donors. I would imagine if an animal was used as a cell donor they would be treated much better than they would be living in a factory farm.
I think an artificial meat producing process holds the potential to reduce the substantial environmental costs of producing meat.

Sooooo tempted to merge this thread...
... but since this is set as a new poll, here is the link to the older, similar Replicator Meat thread (http://www.veganrepresent.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7867).
May peace and joy be with you.

That contradicts your poll though, you specified it would have the same environmental and health costs as regular ole meat.

Artificial = bad. I wouldn't trust anything they came out with.

I don't think so, the technology doesn't exist yet so it is the safer assumption to assume that they can not improve upon the environmental and health costs until the technology is closer to production level. I also put that assumption in there to keep it about aesthetics and ethics.
Personally, I think it can improve upon these things and I think that the financial aspects of that is motivating the research. For example, only growing/buying enough soybeans to grow the final product...muscle tissue, instead of growing a digestive system, hooves, fur etc....not having to pay to transport those things etc etc.
my point was that is how you worded the poll, so that is how the votes will go. i voted as if it had the same impact, so I voted no. if it had no impact, i wouldn't have any problem with it.

I voted Big Improvement but I wouldn’t use it.
Consequences of such a feat scare me.

Artificial meat= spam in a can.
Can you imagine how much crap they will put into it.
Artifical flavorings and artificial colors.
Then government will say it is bad for your healthto eat and go back to the factory farms.
