This is my second time around vegetarian and after having discovered the "vegan freaks" podcast, im just about 95% vegan, 5% ignorant...
The issue for many, as myself, is the animal compassion factor. I can't even stand in front of the adoption center at the local petco without drawing tears. I get a knawing, nagging gut level feeling of something I can only describe as getting your heart-broken all day everyday. no, Im not an emotional masochist, I cant help it. I am 3 weeks shy from graduating from nursing school and thats where the health issue comes in. I am very much on the side of homeopathy as opposed to medical, how ironic right? So im not one into consuming pills as the sheep people of America feel so inclined to do so the minute a headache pops up. before I write a freekin novel, I need a place to start. I believe I will have the resources due to me living in southern california but i dont know where to kick this off....so...(big a** sigh)...HERE WE GO....

Welcome! :daisy:

The VF podcasts are what pushed my husband into getting off the fence & going vegan. :)

It's not hard, certainly easier than nursing school, you can do it! I think as you get further into nursing, you'll find your compassion for living things will only grow. For me anyway, the stronger my convictions got, the easier it was to give up products I knew supported an evil industry. Congrats on finishing school, and welcome!

Congrats on (nearly) finishing nursing school! If you need any support going vegan, this is a great place to hang out. Actually, even if you don't need suport, this is a great place... but you get my point. :)

Welcome!

yeah, i consider myself the anti-pharmaceutical, animal rights, tattooed, pierced hippie-psychobilly, politically incorrect Buddhist nurse. LOL =)
((( AWESOME )))
But yes, I agree 100% interesting how I noticed the medical program attempts "brainwashing" (no kidding) the students via the nursing program towards medical treatment is the only way (not), and they even talk down on homeopathy and anything thats not prescription-related. talk about an ethical dilemma. I've rebelled the system...I'm going to work as a sheriffs department nurse in the correctional facilities field. ie, the womens jail etc.
so there ! =)
