Hey, I'm new and i don't have any dramatic, see the light and become vegan story, but since you have to post on here...

A few months ago my dad and I got curious about veganism for some reason and decided to have a bet on who could go vegan the longest (we were avid meat eaters.) I'd previously had all sorts of misconceptions about vegetarians and vegans; I thought they were picky and snobbish, and it didn't help that the only two vegetarians i ever knew were jerks. Anyway, i started doing research on sites like peta and as i got more information, it started to make more sense. I had always thought that being vegan was extremely unnatural and unhealthy, but now i know that its the opposite. None of my friends know that im vegan yet even though i have been for awhile, mostly because i go to a small private school where, if for some reason you decide to change something about yourself, everyone looks at you funny and thinks you're trying to "get attention":umm: .

So yeah, now I'm very gung-ho about veganism and am enjoying it immensely!! Hopefully this board will provide more info than i already have.
