Part of me wants to see the factory farm industry dig its own grave on this, but what the hey - maybe we can avoid their conniving and deceitful ways for a bit, so I sent this. Feel free to just copy and paste - that's what I did from Farm Sanct's 3-page pdf.

Docket No. FSIS 2006-0040
Product Labeling: Definition of the Term "Natural"

To Whom It May Concern:

I, So-n-so, a consumer, submit the following comments regarding Docket No. FSIS 2006-0040.

I oppose the use of the term “natural” for meat products obtained from animals raised in intensive confinement systems,
or whose lives have been otherwise altered and manipulated in blatantly unnatural ways. I urge the FSIS to expand the
parameters under consideration to include the animals’ living conditions.

Large scale, industrialized production systems subject animals raised for food to severely crowded, barren and unhygienic environments that precipitate various physical and psychological ailments. In other words these systems are inherently and by definition unnatural.

I ask that USDA FSIS use the recommendations outlined by Gene Baur, President of Farm Sanctuary, Inc. in his comments dated January 10, 2007.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,
So-n-so
